Cscade – A Photo & Video Sharing Website and App that also Conducts Contest

Client Requirement:

The client wanted us to design and develop a social networking website as well as an app for sharing photos and videos that would also host the photo and video contests.

Our Endeavor:

The project was basically about developing a website, Facebook application and iPhone application. Both the Website and the Application would allow users to register by selecting membership types: free or premium. Registered members can also participate in weekday photo/video contest. The website and the app allow the users to upload photo/video to participate in the respective contest and would be assigned a room.

Contestants (50 contestants for the photo contest and 30 contestants for video contest) within a room can vote against each other. Each contestant would need to vote for 10 photos. Top winners (20% of 50 contestants in the photo contest or 30 contestants in the video contest) would be promoted to the next levels of contests. Winners of all the weekday contests would be eligible to participate in the weekly contest.

Weekly contestants can invite their friends to participate in the contest and cast votes. Winners of the weekly contest would be promoted to the monthly contest and the winners of the monthly contests would be promoted to the annual contest. Free subscribed users would earn points on the following activities such as registering with the site, participating in the contest, winning or losing the contest.

Premium subscribers would win rewards/cash prize. The rewards/cash prize would be distributed among the users who win the contest to their PayPal address entered by the users at the time of joining the premium contest. The website would allow users to subscribe for channels to receive notifications, invite friends and would communicate with their friends via the internal messaging system.

The client wanted us to design the website which visually should have a feeling of exclusivity and would be classy in look. Keeping all the requirements in mind, we have created a professional design using latest web elements into the design. We have created the similar design for the website and Facebook app. We have maintained a branding in all the pages/screens of the app as well as in the website.

The site has been developed using Social Engine. We have developed a number of custom plugins as well as the customized theme for Social Engine according to the specific requirements.
