Upgrading An Online Store Dealing in Fashionable Clothes

Client Requirement:

The client approached us to improve the page loading speed of this eCommerce website. He wanted us to optimize the website properly so that it loads faster and delivers excellent shopping experience to the fashionistas.

Our Endeavor:

As this website was slow to load and the client was losing his business due to lacking performance of the website. We analyzed the pitfalls of the website thoroughly and upgraded the website to improve the page loading speed. To speed up the website loading performance, we did the following as Magento allowed us to do –

• Enabled Apache KeepAlive
• Installed PHP Accelerator like APC, ZendOptimizer+ or Xcache
• Tuned PHP realpath_cache
• Increased query_cache_size to 80M
• Compress output, use zlib.output_compression or mod_deflate
• Enabled Gzip Compression in .htaccess
• Compiled MySQL from source instead of OS package manager
• Used a Content Delivery Network (CDN) for parallel transfer of static content
